The STREAM Ultra X is a solar + battery system. Current UK plug-in solar regulations (from 27 August 2026) primarily cover pure generation devices up to 800 W and exclude integrated battery systems, so full “plug-and-play socket” use is limited.
Standard UK installation: Hard-wired connection to the consumer unit via a fused spur/DIY cable by a qualified electrician, in line with BS 7671. Notify your Distribution Network Operator (DNO) under G98 (fit-and-inform process for systems under 3.68 kW).
EcoFlow supplies open-end cables that comply with existing rules. Future plug-in cable options are expected as regulations evolve.
