Warm homes loan
-
A UK government scheme, run by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) as part of the Warm Homes Plan
Launched to households on 27 October 2026
The loans come from approved lenders such as banks and credit unions, not from the government
Government funding lets lenders cut interest rates by up to 5 percentage points compared with their normal loans
Some lenders offer interest-free loans, and some give you up to 30 years to repay
It's a loan, not a grant: you repay it, and the lender checks your credit and affordability
-
Homeowners anywhere in the UK, with or without a mortgage
The property must be a home, not a commercial building
Private landlords can also apply for homes they rent out
There's no income limit, but each lender has its own checks and may have extra rules
-
Solar panels: loans up to £15,000, including adding panels to a system you already have
Battery packs: loans up to £15,000, on their own or with solar
EV chargers: can be included when they're fitted as part of a solar or battery pack installation (not on their own)
Installation costs: scaffolding, safety equipment and grid connection work are included
-
We're MCS certified (NAP/23183) and RECC members. The scheme requires solar and battery packs to be fitted by an MCS certified installer, so we're eligible to install
We'll survey your home and give you a clear, itemised quote, which you'll need for your loan application
We design and fit solar, battery packs and EV chargers, so one installer can handle the whole job
We'll lodge your installation with MCS and give you your MCS certificate, which your lender will need
We're a family-run local business based in Buxted, covering East Sussex, Kent and the surrounding areas
-
Get your quote: contact us for a free survey and a quote
Choose a lender: we recommend The Money Co-op
Apply: apply to the lender (not the government) and they'll run their usual checks
We install: once your loan is approved, we fit your system and register it with MCS
Keep your paperwork: keep your quote, loan agreement, invoice and MCS certificate safe
